Adaptive equipment in Marquette County
Equipment is often the real barrier. For every item we work to track who owns it, where it is, who can use it, whether it can be borrowed or is program-only, what it costs, how to reserve it, who can safely fit and operate it, and when we last verified any of that.
| Equipment | Status | Notes |
|---|
| Nordic sit-skis | Verified — Superiorland Ski Club | Program-provided for the para-nordic program. |
| Adaptive bikes | Verified — SAIL SPAR | Used in SPAR biking; exact inventory and borrowing terms being confirmed. |
| Alpine sit-skis | No verified local availability | Part of what Marquette Adaptive's founding winter is working to make possible. |
| Handcycles / recumbent cycles | Verification in progress | Confirming what exists within SPAR inventory. |
| Adaptive mountain bikes | No verified local availability | Trails exist and interest exists — equipment and instruction do not yet. |
| Track chairs / all-terrain wheelchairs | Verification in progress | Identifying who owns them and where they can be used. |
| Beach mobility equipment | Verification in progress | Confirming availability at local beach access points. |
| Adaptive kayak & transfer equipment | No verified local availability | Accessible launch infrastructure exists; adaptive seating and transfer support do not. |
| Sled hockey equipment | Verification in progress | Tied to U.P. Sled Cats verification. |
| Adaptive sailing equipment | No verified local availability | Nothing verified in Marquette County today. |
Marquette Adaptive equipment will appear here only once it has actually been acquired and is operational.
The gap map
A missing resource tells us where something may need to be built.
We classify every activity by how much verified access exists, then name the specific barrier behind it. That's how a community request becomes a partnership conversation: here's an access gap we could solve together.
- Equipment gap
- Program gap
- Training gap
- Facility gap
- Transportation gap
- Funding gap
- Awareness gap
How we list
Show what exists. Celebrate who built it.
Listings are never pay-to-play and partners receive no preferential placement. We verify information with the organization that runs the program, we credit them fully, and we describe exactly what exists — never inferring accessibility, and never implying adaptive expertise that hasn't been demonstrated. Seasonal details change, so confirm dates, cost, and eligibility directly with each organization before you go.
